GPS receviers and Terminals

forensic examiners analyze an increasing number of  GPS receviers each day. Examiners typically gather information such as the the destinations that are programmed into the recevier, the locations where the recevier has been, and the route travelled. some GPS recevier built into an outomobile also record data about the vehicle's performance, which also can help in an investigation.

A  terminal is a computer, usually with limited processing power , that enables users to send data to and/or receive information from a host computer. the host computer processes the data and then, if necessery, send information (output) back to the terminal. The host computer usually is a server or mainframe.

special-purpose terminals perform specific tasks and contain features uniquely designed for use in a particular industry.Three widely used special-purpose terminals are point of sale(POS) terminals, automated teller machines, and DVD kiosks
